Even without a typical TV season, Sherlock is still taking home the trophies.

The series took home the best TV movie award for its Christmas special, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride. While neither of the series' leading stars, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, were on hand for the celebration, executive producer Steven Moffat was.

"Thank you to the BBC, who we love above all bakery—British people will get that," Moffat began, possibly referencing the recent exit of The Great British Bake-Off from the network. "To Masterpiece on PBS, still got it, and a list of people I would like to thank in some detail now. But I'm not going to, because it's been a long night, and they're all British. So I'll just go home and phone them."

Moffat also weighed in on the battle for best wife, which was a competition inadvertently started by Sterling K. Brown, who accepted the award for best supporting actor in a limited series or movie by declaring, "Contrary to popular belief, I got the hottest chick in the game, rockin' my chain."

Courteney B. Vance then declared his own wife, Angela Bassett, the best chain rocker when he accepted for best actor in a limited series or movie.

"One last thing, I need to say, the one person I am going to thank, my wife, for the best reason of all. Not only does she rock whatever that was, but she actually produces the show. Thank you very much, and we're very happy, good bye."

Sherlock competed against HBO's All the Way and Confirmation, BBC One's Luther, and Netflix's A Very Murray Christmas, and has previously won three Emmys.
