The Happiest Place on Earth really is full of surprises.

Just a few weeks before Johnny Depp reprises his role as the Mad Hatter in Alice Through the Looking Glass, the actor decided to shock a few unsuspecting fans.

As guests approached the gates into the Disneyland Resort, an ordinary billboard stood firm on the ground with an image of Johnny's iconic character. While some park goers were quick to snap a photo or comment on how much they love the character, Johnny had a few tricks up his sleeve.

As he hung out "somewhere in Wonderland," the actor was able to see each and every guest passing by the billboard. But instead of staying quiet, Johnny decided to get involved and interact with a few unsuspecting guests.

Whether smiling to a young girl dressed as Minnie Mouse or asking to measure a child's head—after all, she had a "wonderful cranium"—Johnny couldn't help but bring more than a few oohs and awws from the crowd.

If you're still not impressed, you have to watch what happens when the actor sneezes in front of the crowd. We warned you that Disney is full of surprises. "I would like die right now if it was Johnny Depp," one fan shared. Wish granted!

After spending five years following in her father's footsteps and sailing the seas, Alice Kingsleigh (Mia Wasikowska) returns to London in Alice Through the Looking Glass before landing back in the whimsical world of Underland.

She reunites with the White Rabbit (voiced by Michael Sheen), Absolem (voiced by Alan Rickman) and the Cheshire Cat (voiced by Stephen Fry), as well as the Mad Hatter who has lost his Muchness.

The film, based on author Lewis Carroll's second Alice novel, 1871's Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There hits theatres May 27.
