Instagram Back to class we go!
Just days after families celebrated the unofficial end of summer over Labor Day weekend, many parents including Jennifer Hudson were ready to send their kids back to school!
In several Instagram posts Wednesday morning, the American Idol finalist decided to share her son's journey to first grade. Let's just say David is more than ready for class.
After shopping at Macy's for new jeans and attire, the six-year-old made his way to class with a little help from mommy and daddy.
"Happy first day of school my baby!" Hudson wrote on Instagram while David met some of the staff. "My David's!"
It was a special summer for Hudson and her growing son who were able to enjoy plenty of mother-son activities.
Whether going to Sunday morning church or doing charity work for the Julian D. King Gift Foundation together, the pair didn't have to travel far to have a good time.
And who can forget when David was treated to a special sixth birthday with his extended family? Back in August, the elementary school student celebrated his big day with a Michael Jackson gift.
"My baby loves Michael Jackson! So @DavidOtunga and I had to get him a MJ bday cake!" she wrote before go-karting with family. "All the key pieces! From the hat, to the gloves , to the socks n Jacket too."
She added, ""We had such a great time. Smile my baby!"
