They had two of the most high-profile pregnancies in 2013, but that's where the similarities end between Jessica Simpson and Kate Middleton end. In a recent Us Weekly cover story, the former Fashion Star mentor—mom to Maxwell, 16 months, and Ace, 2 months, with fiancé Eric Johnson, 33—said she was in awe of the Duchess of Cambridge, who welcomed Prince George with husband Prince William on July 22 in London.

"Kate Middleton was glowing throughout her pregnancy," Simpson, 33, gushed of the British royal, 31. "A lot of pregnant moms were looking at her like, 'How do you do that?!'"

Simpson, as fans will no doubt remember, was bullied about her weight during her first pregnancy. "I will never understand why people give pregnant women such a hard time," she told the mag. "We are creating human life: I think we get every excuse in the world to eat a doughnut! It's very hurtful, especially when you're so emotional and going through all of these hormonal changes."

The singer even received sympathy from strangers she'd meet on the street. "People would come up to me and say, ‘I'm so sorry that everybody is giving you a hard time,'" Simpson recalled.

Unlike Middleton, Simpson said she's "just one of those pregnant women who gains a lot of weight." Plus, "I have really big boobs," she added. "I have my curves." Now that she's given birth, the Weight Watchers spokeswoman vowed that she's "focused on feeling good and making healthy choices."
