We hope Kate Middleton doesn't feel the wrath of Anna Wintour over this.

The duchess today confirmed she is not posing any time soon for Vogue following reports that the icy editirix was "quietly but persuasively campaigning" through famed photog and mutual friend Mario Testino to get the beauty on board for the American edition of the magazine.

But why not?

It's certainly not a personal beef with Wintour. According to a Kensington Palace spokesman, Kate is simply not giving any interviews right now.

"The duchess will not be doing anything with U.S. Vogue, or any other publications for the foreseeable future," said the royal rep. "She has only ever given one joint interview (the day her engagement was announced with Prince William) and that was for television to be shared between the networks. There are no plans for her to undertake anymore interviews at the moment."

The New York Post had reported that Wintour was trying to persuade the newlywed through Testino, a close pal of the couple, who shot their official engagement photo.

We have a feeling that Wintour won't be so easily dissuaded.
