K-Fed attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan has spoken out in defense of Britney Spears, claiming that his client was well aware the disgruntled employee's claims were coming, and did something very smart about it...
He checked them out before hand.
Kaplan told reporters that Fernando Flores' accusations had been made known to them well in advance of him filing the sexual harassment suit yesterday, and after investigating the claims of abuse and just downright inappropriate behavior toward their two sons, determined that the accusations were entirely unfounded.
"He is satisfied that the allegations are a product of economic motives," Kaplan said of Federline, who still holds primary custody of sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. "They are as baseless as they seem."
In other words: Flores is just trying to milk the cash cow. And if there's anyone who should be able to spot that, surely it's K-Fed.
For her part, Britney has also slammed the lawsuit, albeit in an equally measured way, restating much of what has already been said on her behalf about the so far unfounded claims.
"This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself," a message posted on her website this morning read.
"The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a proper investigation surrounding Mr. Flores' accusations and have closed the case without any further action. Ms. Spears and her attorneys have every expectation that this matter will be dismissed by the courts."
