It sounds like Mariah Carey has no regrets from the past year.

Despite a broken engagement and breakup from her ex-fiancé James Packer, the singer has nothing but positive things to say about her year in review. When asked to describe 2016 in just three simple words, the Mariah's World star said: "A good year."

"There were so many really good parts of 2016," Mariah gushed to E! News exclusively at her Mariah's World premiere party at Catch NYC Sunday night. "I think people should watch the show because they're gonna see, they're gonna see moments. I'm just so glad that I documented it."

One good thing that came out of 2016? Her new romance with backup dancer beau Bryan Tanaka!

"I've always had a thing for Mariah. I love her so much," Tanaka told us that same night. "Just make sure you tune in to the show and you'll see kind of how everything happens." Aw!

Tanaka added of their decade-long friendship, "Something connected with us back in the day and there was just a mutual admiration. She saw something in me that I actually didn't recognize at first, from that it was over. It was set in history that we were gonna be connected some way, some how."

Carey said of reconnecting with Tanaka over the past year, "It's really nice, especially when you've worked with somebody in the past and then you get to work with them again and just see how everybody's grown creatively and all that."
