Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider teaming up for new all-star comedy

Adam Sandler's convening a Saturday Night Live reunion in hopes of creating some big-screen fireworks.

He and his former Not Ready for Prime Time cohorts Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider, along with mall cop extraordinaire Kevin James, are planning to join forces for an all-star comedy flick due out Independence Day 2010.

The film, cowritten by Sandler, follows five high school chums who reunite after 30 years for a July 4 holiday weekend, per Variety. Dennis Dugan (You Don't Mess With the Zohan) will direct, with cameras slated to roll this summer.

Meanwhile, it's a busy day on Hollywood's casting couch...

    Snoop Dogg has sealed a multiplatform agreement with MTV to host his own variety show, Dogg After Dark, featuring celebrity interviews, music performances and sketch comedy and air for seven consecutive Tuesdays starting Feb. 17. The cable net will also distribute and market the Doggfather's upcoming album , Malice in Wonderland, and feature his catalog of hits in its Rock Band franchise

    Oscar nominee Josh Brolin joins Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins in the ensemble cast for Woody Allen's next picture, which the Vicky Cristina Barcelona auteur wrote and will direct this summer in London. No word on the plot or title.

    According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sam Rockwell has been tapped to costar with Hilary Swank in Betty Anne Waters, based on the true story of unemployed single mom who earns a law degree just so she can help overturn her brother's wrongful murder conviction. Minnie Driver costars.

    Dark Knight star Aaron Eckhart and Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins (The Visitor) are in negotiations to star alongside Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in Rum Diary, the big-screen adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson's novel.

    TV icon Carol Burnett will guest star on the March 17 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as a former dancer caught up in the murder of a young couple.

    Revolutionary Road actress Kathryn Hahn will play the role of Eddie in AbFab, Fox's adaptation of the hit U.K. comedy Absolutely Fabulous. The sitcom will also costar 3rd Rock From the Sun alum Kristen Johnson as best pal Patsy.

    Chuck star Zachary Levi has been cast in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. Levi will play a cousin of Jason Lee's character befriended by the rodent rockers. The plot, as it were, features Alvin, Simon and Theodore facing off with the rival Chipettes

    Finally, Wilmer Valderrama is developing and executive producing Earth to Pablo, a comedy for Nickelodeon about a normal family that thinks it's getting a South American exchange student only to wind up with a teen space alien.
