High fashion meets low comedy on the cinematic runway of Zoolander, a silly but good-spirited flick. Writer-director-actor Ben Stiller plays male model and master of malaprop Derek Zoolander, who sashays his way through a plot that would have him--under a spell from SNLer Will Ferrell--murder the prime minister of Malaysia. As Derek Z.
goes into Austin Powers mode, he works with his equally dim-bulbed catwalk competitor Owen Wilson to foil the plan. And all the while, the film stabs away at the fashion industry. (Keep an eye out for David Duchovny as a hilarious hand model.) Despite a few sections that fall flat--unlike Stiller's electrifyingly spiky 'do--it's hard not to play along with the flick's antics. It gets our vogue.
