Party Monster

Talk about the life--and death--of the party. Michael Alig and James St. James were the Bonnie and Clyde of New York's club kid scene in the late '80s and early '90s. They created chaos wherever they went and turned a band of freaks into nightlife "stars" the same way Warhol did with the art crowd. However, the disastrous duo (played by Macaulay Culkin and Seth Green, respectively) also spent too much time doing lots of drugs and hanging with people like small-time dealer Angel Melendez (Wilson Cruz).
The party ended when Alig murdered Melendez, chopped up the body, dumped it in a river and then bragged about it until he ended up in prison. Needless to say, Party Monster is a real-life horror show of beautiful people, which is visually striking and disturbing all at once. Culkin and Green give excellent, flamboyant performances, going for it with outrageous get-ups and obnoxious attitudes. Get in line for a glimpse into this black celebration.
