Marci X

Though not the most X-cruciating X-cuse for a flick, this hip-hop flop isn't even close to bringing down the house. Lisa Kudrow enters drab comic territory as the pampered daughter of media magnate, whose businesses include Felony Assault Records, the label for controversial rapper Damon Wayans. When helmet-haired senator Christine Baranski pulls a Tipper Gore and launches a congressional investigation, it's up to Kudrow to intervene and get Wayans to tame his bad-ass image.
In the process, the princess and the rapper get jiggy in the bedroom--which threatens Wayans' street cred and Kudrow's social standing. A handful of amusing one-liners (and a wicked parody of boy bands) get lost in all the stereotypical characters, dated gags and just awful sequences--including Kudrow and uptight white friends performing an African tribal dance at a night club. If you're looking for laughs, X doesn't mark the spot.
