Established real-life drag queen Charles Busch slips into something less comfortable to play a washed-up diva in this send-up of '60s filmmaking. Busch sleeps with the local gigolo (Jason Priestley), pool boys and just about everybody else--everybody except her movie-mogul husband Philip Baker Hall, of course. All the while, Six Feet Under's Frances Conroy is the family maid who's more interested in what goes on in the bedroom than cleaning it.
With smart humor and a comfy sense of camp (thanks particularly to Busch's leggy performance), director Mark Rucker keeps the high heels kicking and the references flying. A good time, if you're the open-minded sort. Heck, even your mommy might like it.
