Bad Boys II

If your ears can handle another supersize, blow-'em-up summer action flick, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are on the job with an excessive amount of guns, explosions and attitude. This time, the snappy cop duo is wrapped up in a convoluted plot about a Cuban Ecstasy kingpin, all while keeping an eye on Lawrence's DEA sis (Gabrielle Union). When they're not shooting people or smashing up the city in more car chases than The Matrix and T3 combined (Thanks, Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay!), the two are shooting off at the mouth.
So, while the action is on hold (which is rare), Smith (with a cocky swagger) and Martin (as the therapy-comforted worrywart) make for some great buddy moments. The overdone movie could've shaved off about half of the action--and that surprisingly raw showing of gore--and would have been just fine. But at least you know you're getting your money's worth.
