Shall we Antz? Why the heck not? Sometimes hilarious, often predictable, DreamWorks' latest assault on the Disney fortress of animated family entertainment succeeds, thanks to a one-two punch of star power and high technology. The innovative animation is awesome, but unfortunately the story also verges on the machine-tooled: individualistic nebbish worker ant Z (Allen) falls for a princess (Stone) and kidnaps her.
In the course of their adventures, the odd couple falls in love, naturally, and Z returns as king of the hill. Despite the stale story, the Allen Ant is hilarious (although, if he were directing, Stone would be too old for him), and Walken, Glover and Hackman also bring a lot of character to their roles.
