The Secret Lives of Dentists

When a dentist (Campbell Scott) thinks his wife (Hope Davis) is cheating on him, it creates a cavity in his life--and his sanity. The revelation hits him so strongly that he starts hallucinating that a patient of his (the sometimes-funny Denis Leary) is also his secret confidant. This intriguing dark comedy benefits from fine performances from the leads--who really give it their all during a flu-induced group vomiting scene.
Still, you've got to wonder why the doc doesn't just confront his wife when he initially gets suspicious. Of course, that would've made the movie about 10 minutes long. And you know how these dentists are...they really like their pain.
