The One is more like number two. This stinky sci-fi martial-arts flick--in which an evil Jet Li kills other Jet Lis in parallel universes because it makes him stronger, faster and smarter--is like a bad student. It's lazy, makes plenty of mistakes and doesn't always live up to its potential. The intriguing concept is executed poorly throughout the flick, while the usually agile and amazing Li's best fist-flying moments are dragged down by overloaded Matrix moves (look, he dodged a bullet!) and really, really loud, bad metal songs.
The final showdown between Li and himself will thrill fight fans and Freudian psychologists, but sitting through this zero (in any dimension) to get there just ain't worth it.
