Scream-meister Kevin Williamson has a lot to answer for. Because his franchise has revived the slasher genre, we're stuck with things like this schlockfest, in which the evil doll of three previous installments once again rises from his shoebox-size grave and sends a lot of other people to theirs. This time he's aided by a female puppet, voiced by Tilly.
And since it's the post-Scream era, there are wiseguy in-jokes and pop-culture references, which are supposed to distract us from the fact that, well, they're dolls! The scariest part of the movie is the end, which promises--horrors!--yet another sequel.
