Seeing Palm Trees never gets old and the excitement I experienced during my first trip to La La Land is still as vibrant as that very first trip many years ago. Sunshine, palm trees and the overall mantra that anything is possible is alive and well in LA, and I often catch myself day dreaming of being back there. Our next interview with Tricia Miranda truly embodies this mantra.

Dancing is not my forte; born with two left feet, a lack of rhythm and coordination, compounded with the fact that I have little to zero grace in my body, you can imagine how nervous I was for our hip hop dancing lesson with none other than celebrity choreographer Tricia Miranda. Tricia has worked with Beyonce, Demi Lovato, Snoop Dogg, the Backstreet Boys, Kendrick Lamar and the list (literally) goes on and on. This woman oozes swagger, confidence, and fluidity in her movements. And now I was supposed to learn a dance from her and then perform it next to her on camera? Needless to say I was nervously giggling the entire time and praying that I get through it without knocking everyone over like a game of dominos.

My favourite part of the day was learning how Tricia got her big break and why the notion of "don't cut yourself before they do" is something we should all incorporate into our lives. In the early days of her dancing career, going from audition to audition, she found herself debating going to an audition for Beyonce's tour, only thing was that they were looking for a Caucasian dancer. Tricia could have decided not to go that day but instead decided to dance her heart out regardless of what the call-sheet said. Her unique flare and insane dancing abilities got her hired that day and she toured the world with Queen B, no big deal. Hence, her belief that we should never count ourselves out before giving it a shot and believing we are worthy of the opportunity!
