For over 15 minutes, the four-time Grammy winner and late-night host serenaded the streets of Los Angeles with all of Mars' biggest hits including "Uptown Funk," "24K Magic" and "Locked Out of Heaven"
However, while we were hypnotized by the crooner's satin ensemble and velvety pipes, there were a few interesting things happening behind the scenes that you might not have caught on the first viewing. Here's a recap:
1. Carpool Karaoke loves hats.
This isn't the first time Corden has sported a hat with his Carpool Karaoke guest. Before Mars, he donned a pink cowboy hat with Lady Gaga and matching wigs with Sia.
2. They were fully prepared with accessories.
We saw the stars sport a few funky hats, but we also got a very quick glimpse of all of the hats they did not end up using. At the 3:20 mark, the camera cuts to an angle that reveals a pile of hats behind the passenger seat.
3. James Corden and Bruno Mars are not alone.
While it may just be the two of them in the car together, you can spot a white van following behind them the entire time.
4. Stars tend to divulge their bedroom behavior on Carpool Karaoke.
During the "Versace on the Floor" section, Corden and Mars start discussing how they interact with their ladies in the bedroom. This isn't the first time the topic has come up during a segment of Carpool Karaoke. Corden asked Justin Bieber if he ever has sex to his own music and talked to Jason Derulo about the most people he's slept with in his bed and what sounds he makes during intercourse.
5. James Corden gives stars new material.
After talking about what Mars usually requests for his dressing room, Corden inspired the name of his next album: Wine and Wet Wipes. He even wrote the first line of a rendition of "Uptown Funk"—"Wipe my face, put some liquor with it." Previously with Jennifer Lopez, he suggested starting a rap group, "J.Co and J.Lo" and with One Direction, he choreographed a potential music video for "No Control."
