Smith took to Instagram Thursday morning with a heartfelt message for their 7-month-old son Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr., shared alongside a black and white photo of SJ (as he's often called) lying on a hospital bed.
"You are so strong and such a fighter," she wrote, adding "Nothing is going to slow you down! Mommy and daddy are right here baby! We aren't going to let anything happen to you!!! In this moment my son has proven to be stronger than me already. We love you so much Pooda! We Can't wait to take you home finally"
E! News reached out to the R&B singer's rep for comment, but it's still unclear what landed their little guy in the hospital.
A day later, Smith revealed via Snapchat that a smiley SJ was recovering in the comfort of his home. She also thanked fans for their ongoing support, while paying tribute to Ne-Yo on Instagram.
"Ain't no man like the one I got! It's super important to have a strong partner by your side When life throws you into the worst situation you could ever imagine yourself in. I thank God for this man! I could never have gotten through the past 48 without you! I love you and how much you love our beautiful family. NOT LUCKY JUST BLESSED," Smith wrote.
The proud parents welcomed their first child together in March after Crystal was forced to undergo an emergency C-section to give birth. She shared an Instagram photo, holding her son's hand and explaining, "It was the scariest delivery ever and I ended up getting a emergency C-section cause of complications but with the help of my amazing doctor @drsherryr and my super calming husband @neyo I was able to get through it all and come out with best reward in the world... SJ!!!!! #BestDayOfMyLife."
Ne-Yo is also a father to Madilyn Grace and Mason Evan, both 5, with ex Monyetta Shaw.
