When it comes to Gilmore Girls, it seems the entire world is tuned in—well, except for this writer.

As a generation of fans sat glued to the franchise's newly released A Day in the Life Netflix trailer Tuesday, a far smaller margin remained clueless to the bond between Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, myself included.

For the select few who are unfamiliar with the inner workings of Stars Hollow, the revival's trailer unfolded like an exciting punch line without hearing the joke.

Thanks to the handy series description, we do know that both main women are at a "crossroads." For Rory, that means a journalism career at a standstill. For Lorelai, that means trouble in paradise for her and a guy named Luke. For Grandma Emily, that means the death of her husband and resuming life as a single woman.

As Gilmore Girls newcomers anxiously fire up episode one and try to catch up before the November release, here are a few questions to answer in the process.

  • Are the women big fans of Tori Spelling?

They mention watching her 1996 drama, Co-Ed Call Girl.

  • Are tater tots a Stars Hollow delicacy?

Lorelai and Rory are enraged when Luke refuses to make them.

  • What is Rory doing in London?

While talking about her "vagabond existence," the trailer shows a shot of Big Ben.

  • Who's the guy in the sweater at dinner?

Emily echoes this question with, "Explain to me again who that person is."

  • Who is Luke? Is he Lorelai's husband or boyfriend?

Lorelai says she and Luke are happy with a confused look on her face.

  • Why are Rory and Jess quoting movies together?

He tells her she's still a contender, a reference to On the Waterfront.

  • Why is a pig running through the town square?

Fast forward to the 1:44 mark.

  • Why is Melissa McCarthy shooting frosting?

She jokes it was "pornographic."

  • Why are there dancing pilgrims?

Pay attention at 2:04 or you might miss them.

The four-part series debuts on Netflix on Nov. 25.
