The manny is back in action.
No, Kevin (Justin Hartley) is not returning to his hit sitcom on Tuesday's all-new episode of This Is Us, but he will be asked to put his kid-watching skills to good use when Randall (Sterling K. Brown) decides he and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) need a little alone time after having his bro and biological father, William (Ron Cephas Jones), crash at their place.
In E! News' exclusive sneak peek above, Randall and Beth not so subtlety ask Kevin (who just landed a role in a play in NYC but seems to be more interested in calling out Randall's "ballsy" move of not telling his kids that William is sick) when he's leaving. Harsh! However, Randall decides to take advantage of Kevin's "quiet" and fully stocked (800-thread count sheets! Fancy oatmeal soaps!) apartment.
"Technically, I played an au pair...on TV," Kevin says when Randall tells Beth they should take advantage of the fact they have a family member who can watch the kids who played "a nanny" on TV. "There's a difference, a lot of people don't know that." (We even found out there was a different name for the show originally, but as Kevin explains, "The Manny tested better.")
But it's not all manny hijinks in the episode, titled "The Gameplan," as star Mandy Moore told us, "I feel like the fifth episode is going to destroy people. Milo [Ventimiglia] and I watched it the other day and I was—I was beside myself. I got to my car 20 minutes later and just started bawling by myself after I had cried right after. It's a lot to take in."
And not to brag (but to totally brag), we've also seen the Oct. 25 episode and suggest you invest in Kleenex stock now.
This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
