Christopher Darden won tonight.

Well, Sterling K. Brown won, but you catch what we're trying to say. The actor was awarded Best Supporting Actor for his performances as Darden in The People v. O.J. Simpson at the 2016 Emmy Awards tonight, and his touching speech will make you both tear up, and let out a good laugh.

"So, I was talking to Melania Trump this morning, I was asking her, if I win, what should I to? What should I say?," he joked. "I don't know Melania Trump. Thank you to the Academy. A lot of you may not have known who I was, but you checked the box anyway, and that makes me very, very happy. To the communities that have supported me up to this point in my career, there's a lot of people in St. Louis making a lot of noise right now. Mama, I can hear you. I love you."

A tearful Brown continued, "Sterling Brown Jr., I changed what people called me at age 16 so I could hear your name every day of my life. I love you, daddy. To my extended family at Stanford University, stand up, Chocolate Cardinal in the house. To all my journey actors in New York City and to my friends and faculty there, I love you.

Dana Walden, Gary Newman, everyone at Fox 21, thank you. John Landgraf and FX, thank you for hiring me twice, sir. I appreciate it. Second time was the charm. Goodness gracious, I'm blanking. To my directors and writers, thank you for the road map and the guidance to get through this performance. To my producers, specifically, Brad Simpson, Nina Jacobson and Ryan Murphy, thank you for giving a brother a chance."

He concludes, "Lastly, I was sort of a polygamist during this whole thing, I have three sister wives. Sarah Catherine Paulson, I love you. Where you lead, I just tried to support. Jen Wiley Stockton, thank you for 16 great years, my dear manager and friend, can't wait for the next 16. And contrary to popular belief, I got the hottest chick in the game rocking my chain. Ryan Michelle Bathe, you make this whole thing go. I love you. Thank you."
