Watch: Why Jerry Seinfeld Doesn't Watch Reruns of "Seinfeld"

Because Seinfeld is on TV pretty much every night, you might not have realized that it's been nearly two whole decades since Jerry Seinfeld has been to the Emmys. But, as he reminded E! News' very own Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet at the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, he hasn't attended since 1997.

But there's a very simple reason for that: "I'm not on television," Seinfeld cracked. "My show is on the internet but now they're considering it television."

Seinfeld is nominated for his Crackle webseries Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, which is up for Outstanding Variety Talk Series for the very first time. Previously, it had been nominated in the Outstanding Special Class – Short-Format Nonfiction category.

Of course, he and his Seinfeld costars were no stranger to the Emmys, having won many awards throughout the course of the show's nine-year run. And despite the fact that we haven't had any new episodes of Seinfeld since 1998, it's still on TV all the time.

Unlike the rest of us, though, who tune into reruns nightly, Seinfeld doesn't watch his own show anymore. "Do you ever pull out your high school yearbook and go, 'Hey, let me relive those four years! That was great?' Never. Once you do something you do it," he explained.

Well, never say never. "Sometimes I watch—I'll watch like 20 seconds. I do love the show but when you really, really end something you have to let it go."
