Watch: "Pretty Little Liars" Returning for Season 8?

It's official: Pretty Little Liars is ending after its seventh season.

After much speculation over the future of the show, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse and creator I. Marlene King announced the "bittersweet" news in a Facebook Live broadcast from the show's set, where they're filming the final batch of episodes.

"It's been such an amazing chapter of our lives and we're so glad that you guys could share it with us, but all good things must come to an end and these last 10 episodes are pretty crazy," Hale teased.

While King had hinted at the possibility that the show could continue in a different form after season seven, the group confirmed that the last ten episodes will mark the end of the series.

You'll still have some time before we say goodbye to Rosewood: The second half of season seven will premiere in April 2017, and the series finale will be a supersized two-hour event. Plus, King's new show, Famous In Love, will debut after PLL's final season premiere.

"It's been an honor to work with such a talented cast and crew over the last seven years. We are a family, and it will be hard to say goodbye to a show that has made such an impact on young audiences and been a mouthpiece for cultural change. I'm excited for fans to finally have all of their questions answered, and I believe they will be satisfied with the wild ride that is our last ten episodes," King said in a statement after the news was announced. "I am also thrilled to embark on my next endeavor Famous In Love with Bella Thorne and for PLL fans to get wrapped up in Paige's rise to stardom and the pitfalls of Hollywood."

When E! News visited the PLL set back in June, the cast promised that season seven would provide plenty of closure for fans regardless of if the show continued in another form or not. "It's definitely going to be the last season as the fans know it," Bellisario told us. "I think that most of the major storylines are going to be wrapping up, and that's what's really exciting because I think fans are finally going to get answers that they want."

The PLL midseason finale airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. on Freeform.
