Watch: Savannah Guthrie Reflects on 2016 Presidential Election

Savannah Guthrie has quite the jam-packed schedule these days, and it doesn't look like it's letting up any time soon!

Her on-air coverage of the 2016 Democratic National Convention starts with the Today Show at 7 a.m. and carries on to Nightline at 10 p.m.—and that's not even counting the time spent prepping and shooting the non-live segments. But as Guthrie' told E! News Sibley Scoles Wednesday, she's not the only one working hard: "Everybody covering politics has been busy these days!"

"We're up early with the Today Show, and then I'm doing Primetime on NBC which starts at 10, so yeah, it's up all night, up early in the morning, sleep in the middle of the day," she said with a smile.

Part of Guthrie's campaign coverage included a sit-down interview with President Barack Obama. "He speaks tonight at the convention, so we talked about the speech that he's giving," she said. "Did you know that it's 12 years to the day since he gave this speech at the DNC in 2004 which really launched him into national politics! That was the first time people in politics were saying, 'Could that guy be president?'"

The president is "very much thinking about that speech tonight," said Guthrie, adding that Obama "also feels like it's his job to pass the baton, pass the torch to Hillary Clinton."

So what did Guthrie take away from her interview with Obama about his thoughts on a possible Donald Trump presidency? And why is she certain this election "will go down in the history books"? Watch the clip above to find out.
