It's no secret that reality television shows don't always tell the full story, occasionally adding or removing certain aspects of the truth.

The ability to decide what the public sees is a blessing and a curse for those who have chosen to live their day-to-day lives in front of cameras. It's a blessing because they still get to maintain at least some sense of privacy, but it's also a curse in those moments when there's no other option than to reveal the full, honest story, losing that sense of privacy and actually getting really real.

Most recently, Aaron RodgersJordan Rodgers and their family experienced this first-hand on The Bachelorette. Their family drama was put at the center of the storyline surrounding JoJo Fletcher and Jordan's relationship, forcing Aaron to release a statement about it.

But even though they're the latest to make headlines, they definitely aren't alone. Check out these 7 moments of reality television in which real life drama totally altered the shows' storylines:

Rodgers' Family Drama on The Bachelorette: Since we're already on the topic of the Rodgers family, let us elaborate. Essentially, Jordan revealed to JoJo on this season of The Bachelorette that he and his family don't speak to Aaron.

During hometown dates, Jordan's older brother Luke Rodgers said, "It's something we don't really like to talk about a lot. It pains both of us not to have that relationship. We miss our brother. We just are trusting that God brings things full circle. And just wish that everything would just get back to us being a family."

Aaron addressed the topic during an interview with WISN, saying, "I haven't seen the show, to be honest with you, so it hasn't really affected me a whole lot." He added, "I've always found that it's a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I'm just—I'm not going to speak on those things," he shared. "But I wish him well in the competition."

Josh Duggar's Confessions on 19 Kids and Counting: The reality star checked himself into a faith-based rehab after admitting to cheating on wife Anna Duggar and having a pornography addiction.

Before that, it was revealed he had molested five underage girls as a teen, including younger sisters Jill Duggar and Jessa Dugga—a scandal that prompted TLC to cancel the Arkansas family's show.

Teresa and Joe Giudice Guilty on Real Housewives of New Jersey: The Italian couple pleaded guilty to multiple fraud charges in 2014, including conspiring to defraud lenders and illegally obtain mortgages and other loans, as well as allegedly hiding assets and income during a bankruptcy case. The 39-count indictment claimed they committed mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, made false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud.

The charged affected the show as both were sentenced to prison time. Teresa served 14 months behind bars and was released just before Christmas in 2015, while Joe continues to serve his 41-month prison sentence.

Lamar Odom's Addiction Problems on Keeping Up With the Kardashians: Aside from watching Khloe Kardashian's divorce play out on the reality show, viewers also saw inside the former Lakers player's struggle with addiction.

Lamar was found unconscious due to a drug overdose at a Nevada brothel in October 2015 and spent several days in a coma. After waking up, he continued to recover in the hospital and later spent time at a private rehabilitation center. However, he has since been photographed drinking and partying at several strip clubs. He was even kicked off a flight earlier this month for being too drunk and vomiting on the plane.

Khloe and her family have continued discussing the many ups and downs of their relationship with Lamar throughout the last couple seasons of KUWTK.

Taylor Armstrong's Husband Commits Suicide: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's husband, Russell Armstrong, was found dead in August 2011 after hanging himself at his Mulholland Drive house.

The tragedy—which happened right before the second season of the show aired—was a big storyline for Taylor in several of the following seasons. In fact, she often discussed the "loveless" and "abusive" marriage leading up to his death.

Hank Baskett's Cheating Scandal on Kendra On Top: The former football player was caught having extramarital affairs with a transsexual woman who went public with the information. All of it unfolded during the third season of the former Girl Next Door's reality show, becoming the main plot line of the series.

Though she often threatened divorce, the pair continued to work on the marriage—even in front of cameras—and are doing much better.

The Gosselin's Divorce on Jon & Kate Plus 8: Despite having one of the most popular shows on TLC, the show ended up revealing that the couple actually hated each other.

Cracks began showing in their marriage as Kate often belittled her husband on camera. Then, in 2009, the pair ended their marriage after Jon was rumored to have cheated on Kate in a 3-month affair with an elementary school teacher. After 5 seasons, the show ended up ditching Jon and became just Kate Plus 8.
