It's happening already—the Golden Globes kick off the awards-season marathon on Sunday. And this year it's truer than ever: The Globes are always a tough nut to crack.

Conventional wisdom suggests that the winners here can foretell the Academy Awards, right? Well, two years ago Dreamgirls and Babel won big at the Globes—but when the Oscars were handed out, The Departed grabbed Best Picture. Dreamgirls wasn't even nominated.
