A beauty queen can be an expert when it comes to brushing off criticism. New mom and former Miss Alabama USA Katherine Webb decided to get ahead of her attackers with a candid message about her body all women can learn to embrace.
Just a month after giving birth to her first child, Tripp, with husband and professional quarterback AJ McCarron, the 27-year-old took a casual trip to what appears to be Target to try on some postpartum bikinis. Posing for a selfie in front of the store's dressing room mirror, the dark-haired beauty was radiant in her nautical-themed suit.
"Shopping for bikini season! Shameless selfie...but seeing progress just from breastfeeding. Pretty awesome how the body works!" she described on her Instagram account.
For many women, the thought of getting into a two piece can be unnecessarily daunting, but Webb wasn't about to let something as simple as a swimsuit make her second guess her figure.
"I gained 44 pounds during my pregnancy, so this post isn't meant to be 'humble,'" she wrote candidly. "Say what you want, but I feel great about myself even with the extra cellulite on my butt and stretch marks so shoot me if I felt banging for once in this bikini."
Cellulite or no cellulite, stretch marks or no stretch marks, one thing is certain—this woman just gave birth and looks strong and confident in the midst of her newfound motherhood. Now, that's an impressive feat all on its own.
Congratulations to the new mom and her growing family!
