And the winner is…

The 2016 BET Awards are finally here and your favorite singers, actors and actresses are getting recognized for their achievements in the entertainment industry.

Broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the awards show has already announced winners in two important categories including Samuel L. Jackson for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

"It's an honor to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 BET Awards later this month," the actor said in a statement. "I'm humbled to be recognized by my peers and to join the company of the exemplary recipients before me."

In addition, Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams will be recognized for using his celebrity platform to shine a light on important causes.

"Jesse has proven to be a true pioneer of our generation," BET said in a statement. "[He] is a refreshing new face of activism during a time of crisis in this country."

Coca-Cola Viewers' Choice Award: Beyoncé, "Formation"
