He's at a concert, sticking out like a sore thumb because the musical act is skewed toward the younger set. So you know he's just there to chaperone his children while they take in a One Direction show. Bless you, dads. You're the real MVPs.
When we watched footage of adorable new couple Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift having a little date night at Selena Gomez's tour stop in Nashville we couldn't help but get some serious "dad at a concert" vibe from him. To be clear, he's an extremely hot "dad at a concert." But a "dad at a concert," nonetheless.
We're not saying Taylor forced him to go, because he's obviously really into her and is just happy to spend time with his new boo. But there's footage of Tom watching the show that seems like he isn't quite sure what to do with himself, but wants to have fun for Taylor's sake. Aww!
Here we have Tom bopping along to Selena's music because he's also hip and with it. Dad's can get down, too!
When you're a dad at a concert, you're either sitting down and grumbling about how loud the music is or you're standing up and nodding along to the beat. Tom chose the nod:
This is the part of the show where a dad will ask his kid "how many more songs do you think [insert pop star here] will sing?" Or maybe he'll try to be more involved with the experience and he'll want to get in on the gossip with a question like "Didn't this [insert pop star here] used to date [insert other pop star here]?" And then the kid will roll their eyes and go back to Snapchatting.
Did Tom ask Taylor if Selena Gomez used to date Justin Bieber because we doubt he's actually up on Hollywood gossip? Maybe. Probably. Definitely!
Finally, we have the moment where the dad is dragging his kid out of the venue so he isn't forced to stop and pay $45 for a shirt that the kid will wear once and forget about for eternity. Except in this case, Taylor isn't stopping to buy a shirt. She's stopping to interact with fans because she's one of the most famous human beings in the world.
