Claudia Jordan is backtracking.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 43, seemingly confirmed Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes' relationship Tuesday on comedian Theo Von and filmmaker-journalist Matt Cole Weiss' Allegedly podcast. "He is very happy with her," she said. "I like that he seems very happy." Foxx's rep had no comment on her claims; Holmes' rep did not get back to E! News.
Foxx, 48, and Holmes, 37, have repeatedly refuted the romance rumors over the years, even though a source had previously told E! News their relationship is "not a secret among their friends." Jordan, who is close to Foxx, later said she "misspoke" about the actors. "I have no knowledge of Jamie with Katie at all. I've never seen them together. He's never told me he's dating her," Jordan told Entertainment Tonight Tuesday. To reiterate her point, the Celebrity Apprentice contestant said, "I don't have the knowledge of this being fact. I don't. I misspoke."
Jordan insisted that she didn't mean to reveal anything newsworthy. "A lot of times, I get asked questions about celebrities—some I know, some I don't. A lot times we just give a safe kind of generic answer," she said. "Sorry to not have this bombshell story, but I cannot confirm them."
More than anything, Jordan said she regrets putting her friend's name in the headlines. "I hate that this has blown up like this, and I feel like a lot is being put on a three-second clip from a podcast. I just want my friend to be happy with whoever he's with, but I don't even want to know any more!" she said. "It's none of my business, and again, I've never seen them together."
E! News has reached out to Jordan for further comment.
Jordan's initial comments came weeks after Foxx and Holmes made headlines in the tabloids. OK! magazine falsely reported that Foxx and Holmes were putting their wedding on hold due to the actress' alleged pregnancy; Holmes' rep called its report "categorically untrue." Foxx's rep also told E! News he is "not engaged, not getting married and not having another child."
