Comcast NBCUniversal has donated $1 million to the OneOrlando Fund, which was established by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to assist those affected by the tragic shooting that took place at Pulse nightclub last weekend.

Steve Burke, Chief Executive Officer of NBCUniversal said in note to staff: "We have given a lot of thought to what we could do as a company to honor and support the victims and acknowledge this profound loss. To that end, Comcast NBCUniversal will be making a $1 million donation to the OneOrlando Fund, which has been set up by the Mayor of Orlando to support non-profits that are providing services to the victims and families, as well as working with the LGBTQ, Hispanic and other affected communities."

OneOrlando Fund will support local non-profit organizations that are working together to help all who are affected. The fund will also support other organizations dedicated to figure out why events like these take place. The distribution of the funds will be administered by the Central Florida Foundation. The Foundation serves as the region's community foundation and is home to more than 400 charitable funds.
