Chrissy Teigen Shares What She's Most Excited to Teach Newborn Daughter Luna

The supermodel became a mom for the first time in April

Chrissy Teigen may have just become a new mom, but the wisdom she plans to impart on her daughter runs deep. 

Before she was hosting lip sync battles and teaching fans how to cook on FABLife, the 30-year-old Utah native was an aspiring model. Steadily, she rose in the ranks, posing for Maxim, Nike, Billabong and ultimately the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue of 2014. 

While fans know her as a self-proclaimed "shit starter," a wildly expressive and spunky jokester who rarely seems to take herself too seriously in the public eye, there was a time when such personality was not encouraged. However, knowing what she does today, Teigen plans on teaching newborn Luna how to embrace her own identity regardless of what people expect of her and ultimately, she will find the right place. 

"An important thing I'll try and teach [Luna] is...no matter what, you will find that job, you will find that point in life where people are gonna want you to be exactly the way you are and nothing else," she told an audience member during a panel event for Lip Sync Battle. 

"I think that was a big thing for me to learn because in the modeling world, you go about your days pretending to be so sexy and poised and together and it was interesting for me to learn that as you go on and meet...different groups of people...and to be with these people that you love, that they appreciate you for having this personality which may be quirky or weird or odd to you," she continued. 

"I think I'm excited to teach her to just be yourself and eventually it's going to pay off," the new mom concluded in front of the audience.  

It certainly has paid off for Teigen, who has diversified her career further than many traditional models. While she still poses for the cameras, Teigen managed to translate her love for the kitchen into a wildly popular blog and subsequent best-selling cookbook, Cravings. 

Known for her outspoken persona on social media, the Thai beauty also transformed her relatable disposition into a career all of of its own. Between co-hosting the Spike cable show, the daily talk show and the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, she's earned her stripes as a bonafide television personality. 

A model, a host, a foodie, a mommy...keep that list growing, Chrissy!
