Paradise lost.

Bachelor in Paradise's Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul have split less than one year of marriage, Marcus confirms to E! News, telling us the couple is "unfortunately no longer together."

Marcus and Lacy's June 2015 nuptials aired as part of Bachelor in Paradise's season two premiere, with host Chris Harrison officiating the top-secret ceremony. Two of their witnesses? Season two cast members Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, who also swapped vows in front of ABC's cameras as part of The Bachelor at 20: A Celebration of Love special. While many of the franchise's successful couples were featured, noticeably absent were Marcus and Lacy.

Marcus opened up about their split in an interview with Life & Style, saying Lacy "totally vanished" and "it feels like she's a runaway bride." But the really interesting part? MArcus reveals he and Lacy were never actually officially married, as their Mexico wedding wasn't legal.

"When we came back, we were supposed to start the paperwork," he explained, "but she stalled."

After a fan on Twitter asked if their marriage was actually legal, Jade, who has now changed her last name to Tolbert, wrote, "Yes, we're legally married," before joking Tanner is "stuck" with her. "Although, I do respect the choices of others," she added.

Marcus and Lacy were the only successful relationship to come out of season one of Bachelor in Paradise, just after Marcus was rejected by Andi Dorfman and Lacy was cast away by Juan Pablo Galavis during their respective seasons. Marcus proposed in the season one finale, and the pair said "I do" on June 4, the first day of filming of season two, and exactly one year after they first met.

Marcus teased their nuptials on Twitter, captioning a photo of Lacy getting her hair done, "Happy 1 year anniversary honey buns! How time has flown this past year. Hmmm...whatcha getting ready for?"

just after their wedding, Lacy revealed on Good Morning America that "Marcus has decided to join our great country's military and he's in training for the Coast Guard."

While the couple was originally very open about their relationship. Marcus' last Instagram post that included Lacy went up 13 weeks ago, while Lacy last included a photo of Marcus on her account 31 weeks ago
