Adam Levine to Pay for Christina Grimmie's Funeral

The Voice coach is also paying for late singer's mother's travel expenses

In the wake of Christina Grimmie's tragic death, a member of her Voice family is reaching out to her relatives.

Adam Levine, Christina's coach on The Voice, is paying for the late singer's funeral as well as her mother's travel expenses, his rep confirmed to E! News. Christina's brother Marcus Grimmie, who is being hailed as a hero for tackling her attacker to the ground Saturday, posted on Facebook that he was "blown away" after learning the Maroon 5 singer "personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight."

Adam, who signed Christina to his label 222 records following season six of The Voice, took to Twitter Saturday to express his grief over the singer's senseless death.

Christina's manager Brian Teefey set up a GoFundMe page to help with the family's expenses. As Marcus noted on Facebook, the funds were intended "to help our family move out of our current house and to take care of the funeral." As of Monday afternoon, the fund had more than $171,800 in donations. Her brother was moved by the outpouring of support, writing, "Words cannot express...literally I have no words."

"Please do not feel the need to donate anything at all. Please," wrote Marcus. "Just leave a kind word, message or picture in the comments or message me and sign this change.org petition to help Christina possible be remembered in the next legend of Zelda game, her favorite game of all time."
Marcus assured friends and fans that he and his parents "will read every one of these personalized messages," writing, "I'm so blown away by everything right now. But all I can say is thank you. And Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten."
