Kelly Clarkson has been taking an unofficial maternity leave from the spotlight again.
The 34-year-old singer and American Idol alum gave birth to her and husband Brandon Blackstock's second child together, son Remington Alexander, almost two months ago. She made her first post-pregnancy appearance Tuesday at an event in Nashville.
Not that she owes anyone anything. Let mama relax and bond with her baby boy.

Clarkson spent plenty of time in the spotlight last year, touring over the summer before cancelling concerts to stay on doctor-mandated vocal rest, and also performed as a special guest on one of American Idol's last few shows in February during her third trimester.
Clarkson has, however, continued to be active on social media, tweeting regularly and cheerfully about what she's been up to since welcoming her son.
The two are already bonding over her love of some popular TV shows...and she, like many fans, have experienced some heartache over one.
Clarkson also drew the attention of one of her celebrity crushes in the process.

And Clarkson has also invited new parents Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, who welcomed daughter Luna Simone days after her son was born, on a play date. Legend and Clarkson collaborated on a song on her 2015 album Piece by Piece.
Clarkson had last year joked about setting her and Blackstock's daughter River Rose up with a celebrity kid as well—Amber Rose and ex Wiz Khalifa's son Sebastian Taylor Thomaz.
And speaking of River, Clarkson will have another occasion to celebrate this week during her unofficial maternity leave—the child's second birthday.
Clarkson had also avoided the spotlight for three months after welcoming her daughter.
"When the focus isn't on you," she told People in 2015, "it changes your perspective."
"My whole life took a big 180," she said. "I never thought I was going to be a mom, so it's very much changed my world in the most awesome way."
Clarkson had announced the births of both of her kids on Instagram, with cute pics. She has not shared additional photos of Remington since her announcement, which included a photo of him with River and two half-siblings. Four months after welcoming her daughter, the singer began posting more pics of her on a regular basis and fans have gotten to watch the happy little girl grow up.
"I just want to be the best mom ever and I just want to be successful at being a wife," Clarkson told ELLE magazine in 2015. "Always be loving and supporting. It's all very selfless...I've had my whole gypsy mentality for years now. I think when you have a baby you want to do everything you can in your power to make everything easy for them and magical."
What about more kids? Not likely.
"We're done," Clarkson said on the Australian radio program The Kyle and Jackie O Show in March. "Oh good Lord, yes. I can't be pregnant again."
