Hillary Clinton made history Tuesday when she became America's first female presumptive presidential nominee.

"Thanks to you, we've reached a milestone," Clinton said during a speech in Brooklyn. "Tonight's victory is not about one person. It belongs to generations of women and men who struggled and sacrificed and made this moment possible."

Regardless of personal political views, celebrities turned to Twitter to immediately express their excitement over the fact that a woman finally managed to shatter the glass ceiling. "240 years later, it's about time," comedian Josh Gad tweeted, echoing the sentiments of both men and women around the world.

"Historic, exciting, strong speech by @HillaryClinton!," Andy Cohen posted.
