This may be one of the hardest days yet for Prince's friends, family and fans since his death on April 21.

The legendary artist, whose countless hits include "Little Red Corvette" and "Kiss," would have been 58 today and we're guessing his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minn., will once again end up being a gathering place for people to celebrate the singer's life and mourn his passing.

The recipient of seven Grammys and an Academy Award for his title track from the 1984 movie Purple Rain, Prince's unique style and prolific output won him legions of fans over the course of four decades, as well as helped influence the sounds of countless hit-makers who've emerged in his wake.

News of Prince's death less than two months ago prompted an outpouring of tributes, including from the White House. "Few artists have influenced the sound and trajectory of popular music more distinctly, or touched quite so many people with their talent," President Barack Obama said in a statement at the time.
