You bet Amy Schumer is wearing orange today, but underwear is optional.
While the funnywoman has never been one to shy away from making big statements without even having to speak a word, you may still find yourself raising those eyebrows of yours when you see her latest social media photo. Schumer, who has openly rallied against gun violence in the past, decided to drop her pants and ditch her underwear in honor of Gun Violence Awareness Day.
Along with a number of other stars, Schumer took to social media to urge fans and followers to wear orange in honor of today, and did so by sharing a selfie of her bod...her nearly naked bod. All Schumer was wearing in that picture is an orange sports bra. No pants. No underwear. No regrets.
"Today please #WearOrange for gun safety @Everytown," she wrote.
She also posted a group photo with her friends (everyone, including Amy, fully clothed) all wearing orange and captioned it, "Me and my honeys on set like to #wearorange thinking of you today and everyday Mayci and Jillian."
June 2 was declared National Gun Violence Awareness Day three years ago after Chicago locals wanted to pay tribute to a friend who had lost their life to gun violence. People are asked to wear orange because it's a bold color worn by hunters to protect them from being shot.
Along with Schumer, Kim Kardashian, Julianne Moore, Ron Howard, Brooke Shields and more also shared their orange attire on social media today.
Schumer has made multiple public appearances with her cousin, Sen. Chuck Schumer, in an effort to speak against gun violence and to raise awareness on the dangerous matter. "Gun violence is ripping apart America; it's ripping apart our families," she said at an October press conference with Sen. Schumer.
"And even those untouched by violence must every few days just look up in a stunned silence at another nightly newscast that reads like an obituary."
