Well that was almost quite the disaster.

Season four of Arrow took a bow tonight by saving the world as usual, and all it took was a little bit of hope and hacking. While Oliver found that he, even when armed with the hope of Felicity (which is a concept we just won't comment on with anything other than a heavy sigh), was not strong enough to repel Darhk's increased powers. With nukes headed towards every major city in the world—including Star City—Oliver hopped on top of a car and used the power of speech to rally his fellow residents together to disarm Darhk completely. It worked, and it turned into a straight-up fist fight, until Oliver stuck an arrow through the guy's heart. Meanwhile, Felicity and Curtis hacked a few things and disabled all the nukes. Yay!

There seemed to be some question as to whether Darhk deserved to die for what he did, but it's kind of hard to see any alternative actually keeping Darhk at bay. Now, the city is safe for at least the next couple of seconds, and Oliver has been appointed interim mayor since Ruve is dead.

Unfortunately, not all is well for Team Arrow, because they've all gone their separate ways.

The CW

Diggle was still feeling the guilt after Laurel's death and after killing his brother, so he reenlisted in the army in order to get some time to clear his head away from his family and friends. Thea took off, saying she's done being a superhero. Lance and Donna also split, leaving Oliver, Felicity, and Curtis behind.

As for Olicity, they're not back together, but the possibility of a reconciliation doesn't seem so unlikely in the near future. She's not going anywhere, and she seems to the only person who understands Oliver's internal fight to balance the darkness and the light inside him.

Over in flashback land, Oliver was forced to kill Tania after she begged him to, and then he finally called Waller for a ride off that godforsaken island.
