Katy Perry was the key to the future at the 2016 Met Gala.
The "This Is How We Do" singer stepped out at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday evening looking absolutely divine in a bold Prada gown, which fit perfectly into this year's "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" theme. Perry channeled her inner tech goddess, opting for a sky-high, coifed updo made picture perfect with bangs and a dramatic lip.
Noticeably absent were Perry's eyebrows, though the fashion risk barely distracted from the overall look. The floor-length velvet dress, which featured a conservative neckline and voluminous sleeves, sported a 3-D element as keys and a padlock were draped around the pop star's waist and neck.
A pair of leather, fingerless gloves were the cherry on top to Katy's Met Gala look.
Prior to making her fashion forward debut, the 31-year-old teased fans that her ensemble might require some extra—ahem—assistance.
"I'm wearing a really large thing tomorrow, which will be very difficult to use the restroom in. I might just wear a diaper. I don't really care. I am just going to be looking around for people to help me to the restroom," she told reporters Sunday at a CoverGirl event, held at The Waterfall Mansion in NYC. "I'll feel like one of those brides or something, but there's a lot going on with the dress."
Luckily for the brunette beauty, there were no red carpet mishaps and all went swimmingly as Katy strutted her stuff for the photog's.
