The legend converges in this side-by-side trailer of the 1967 & 2016 versions of The #JungleBook?, from @OhMyDisney?https://t.co/jHPcbqO83I

It's tough to top a Disney classic, but the live-action version of The Jungle Book might just match the original!
That's because the 2016 version based on Rudyard Kipling's beloved works isn't just a remake or do-over of the iconic 1967 animated movie—it's still true to the story, but it's been enhanced by time and technology.
The wonderful people at Oh My Disney put together a video showing the 1967 and 2016 versions side by side, and as you can see in the clip above, both follow a very similar script. Now, though, instead of a cute cartoon Mowgli, we have an adorable, real human child (he's played by Neel Sethi) trying to find his way in the world amid a host of wild animals. The cartoon animals are iconic in their own right, but their CGI counterparts are complete masterpieces.
Special effects have come a long way. As Richard Roper wrote for the Chicago Sun Times, the movie features "some of the most impressive blends of live-action and CGI we've yet seen." Roper calls direct Jon Favreau's version of The Jungle Book "a beautifully rendered, visually arresting take on Rudyard Kipling's oft-filmed tales."
The Jungle Book, which features the voices of Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken is in theaters now.
