Amy Schumer is no stranger to taking on hot topics on Inside Amy Schumer, but tonight's episode features a subject that hits close to home for the multi-hyphenate: gun control.

In a sketch released online early, Schumer plays a home shopping host hawking guns (and Steve Irwin commemorative coins). "Here is what's great about this: now pretty much anyone can purchase this," she says in character. The sketch goes on to include all the gun purchasing loopholes, like gun shows and the Internet as well as state laws allowing legally blind people to purchase guns. The lower third messaging also changes, bringing to light issues with gun control while poking fun. "If you're mentally ill, you'd be mentally ill not to give us a call," a message says on screen as the guns sold ticker rises. The lower third also includes members of Congress who were recipients of gun lobby money.

"Just as a reminder to all the parents at home, these make perfect stocking stuffers. For as young as—it doesn't matter! These are great for any age group," her host character says.

Schumer started working to reduce gun violence and enact stricter gun control laws after a gunman opened fire during a screening of Schumer's Trainwreck and killed two people. When she hosted Saturday Night Live, Schumer appeared in a taped segment about gun control simply titled "Guns," where average Americans seek solace in guns.

"This was a sketch that Amy personally felt really strongly about," Dan Powell, executive producer of Inside Amy Schumer told EW. "The whole writers room piped in with jokes and ideas and things like that but ultimately, this was Amy's baby."

Inside Amy Schumer airs Thursdays, 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.
