Swift and Twilight series star Taylor Lautner caught each other's eyes on the set of Valentine's Day, spurring a relatively short-lived relationship between the two celebs. Other than their namesakes, the couple evidently shared little in common and the female Taylor was on to the next guy.
Lucky for T. Swift diehards, this fizzled romance served as the inspiration for 2010's "Back To December," which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
No retrospective on Swift's ghosts of boyfriends past would be complete without John Mayer. While the hunky crooner and Tay made some pretty great music together ("Half of My Heart" still gives us the feels), their romance just couldn't take the heat.
Perhaps it was the 13-year age difference that contributed to their ultimate split. On her aptly titled song "Dear John," Swift acknowledged the gap, singing, "Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?" Yikes.
