The adventure continues.

After spending years in development, an updated remake of Adventures in Babysitting is set to make its debut on Disney Channel later this summer. The movie—inspired by the 1987 comedy of the same name starring Elisabeth Shue, Penelope Anne Miller, Keith Coogan and Maia Brewton—begins when Lola (Descendants' Sofia Carson) and Jenny (Girl Meets World's Sabrina Carpenter) accidentally switch phones and Lola accepts a babysitting job on Jenny's behalf. Neither of them realizes that it's not all that easy to keep a watchful eye on the four Cooper children (Nikki Hahn, Mallory James Mahoney, Madison Horcher and Jet Jurgensmeyer).

In fact, one of the kids goes missing.

As they try to locate their lost child, the rebellious Lola and straight-laced Jenny find themselves faced with "a fire, a minor brush with the law, a major run from some bad guys, a rare sapphire ferret, green hair, a roller derby, fake tattoos, tow trucks, police station, a rap battle" and more.

Adventures in Babysitting also stars Max Gecowets, Max Lloyd-Jones, Kevin G. Quinn and Gillian Vigman. John Schultz directed the family comedy, while Tiffany Paulsen wrote its script. In development sine at least 2006, actress Raven-Symoné was once attached to star in the film.

Disney Channel announced in January 2015 that Adventures in Babysitting would finally be coming to TV. At the same time, the network also announced that Invisible Star, based on a book by Beatrice Colin and Sara Pinto, would premiere that fall and star Girl Meets World's Rowan Blanchard and Mighty Med's Paris Berelc.

"We know these four young actresses all have the potential for extraordinary careers, and we're excited to give them new opportunities to showcase their talents," Adam Bonnett, Disney's Executive Vice President, said in a statement at the time. "These new movies bring our viewers comedic and heartfelt stories that the entire family can enjoy together, and I'm particularly thrilled to introduce a new take on a personal favorite, Adventures in Babysitting, to a whole new generation."

Entertainment Weekly debuted the Adventures in Babysitting trailer Friday.
