Ready for some magical news? Syfy has renewed The Magicians for a second season of 13 episodes, which is expected to premiere in 2017. (Yep, you might want to keep practicing that finger tutting!)

"Thanks to an extraordinarily gifted creative team of executive producers and our partners at Universal Cable Productions, The Magicians has become a buzzed-about hit, enchanting fans of the novels as well as attracting new and younger audiences to Syfy," Dave Howe, president of, Syfy & Chiller, said in a statement.

The series, based on the bestselling fantasy novels from Lev Grossman, airs its fourth episode tonight, Feb. 8 at 9 p.m., and stars Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta and Summer Bishil as a group of twenty-somethings learning magic (and its dark consequences) at Brakesbill College for Magical Pedagogy.

The Magicians airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Syfy.  (E! and Syfy are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
