The duo touches on everything from what inspired them to tackle this project to what it was like working with John Travolta and David Schwimmer. Hint: The two were "insanely nice" they said. The writer/producer twosome noted in their AMA that they would not have done the project had it been in the form of a movie. They explained that they would not have been able to fit everything into a short film-length period. The 10 hours of TV time let them cover the "larger than life characters" and "gigantic themes" that appear to have inspired them. Makes sense to us!
Scott and Larry noted they did not draw inspiration from O.J.'s book, If I Did It. In fact, they found it to be "ridiculous." Fair enough. Also, In the event you were wondering, as one Redditor was, the duo made it clear that O.J. does not make any money off of the show.
What are David Schwimmer and John Travolta like IRL? The two described John as a "true movie star" and David as "completely dedicated as an actor." Seems about right!
What surprised them the most? The duo says, "So much! For instance, in last night's episode, all that craziness in Kardashian's Encino house was a total surprise to us. The more we learned about it, the more we expanded it. It felt like farce, with the doorbell constantly ringing and doctors and nurses running around."
