The search for Craig Strickland ended today after the Backroad Anthem lead singer was found dead at age 29.

A spokesperson for Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms to E! that Craig's body was recovered and the family has been notified.

Strickland was declared missing Monday afternoon after his friend, Chase Morland, was found dead in Kaw Lake, OK.

The two pals embarked on a duck hunting trip over the weekend and Morland even foreshadowed the tragedy on Twitter by writing, "In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm."

On Sunday, a search was launched when a boat the two men were reportedly using for the hunting trip north of Tulsa, in Kay County, was found capsized in the early hours of Monday, according to Oklahoma's News9.

Craig's wife, Helen Strickland, updated fans about the search efforts, writing on Monday, "Craig's dog Sam has been found. His boat has been confirmed as being capsized. They are still searching for Craig. Please keep praying."

Meanwhile, Strickland's band posted the following message on their Facebook page: "Everyone please say special prayers for the family of Chase Morland. They were very close friends and it is such a heartbreaking loss…We are trying to think of a scenario where he is still alive. Hoping against the odds. We can't even stand to think about it. We are devastated. Only God & time can put us back together. Love all!

"From Craig's father Randy Strickland. We love you Randy, Helen, Joanne, and family and we are all believing in a miracle!"

Our thoughts go out to Strickland and Morland's family and friends during this time.
