Much like her character, James Bond actress Naomie Harris is coming to the defense of her Spectre co-star, Daniel Craig

The 47-year-old blue-eyed hunk came under fire after making strongly-worded remarks against the franchise that made him a superstar. In an interview with Time Out London, Craig was expletive in describing his emotions toward the iconic series, for which he has filmed four installments.

"I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists," the 47-year-old actor said of playing the legendary British character. "I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on."

Harris, who portrays Bond's female assistant Moneypenny, insisted to BBC that the comments were simply taken out of context.

"It was not as he intended it," she told BBC, alleging her co-star's "sense of humour… doesn't come across particularly well in print."

"It's easy to take something that someone says in passing and blow it completely out of proportion," Harris continued. "I think that's what's happened here, so I don't really believe those comments at all."

While Harris may be far more forgiving of her on-screen chum, some other actors in Hollywood have been far less forgiving, including Grey's Anatomy leading star Ellen Pompeo, who said the actor needs a "reality check."

Still, Craig is mostly loved by fans of the franchise, often ranking right behind Sean Connery in the iconic lineup of men who have held the titular post.

"Daniel lives and breathes Bond," Harris confirmed.

While the true meaning behind Craig's words remain to be seen, the controversy begs the question—what would Bond do?
